WEBQUEST: “Smithereens” Source: Netflix: Black Mirror, 5th Season, 2nd Episode

Subject: To what extent are social networks immersed in our perception of reality.

Task To create a blog with a review about Smithereens that tries to convince the audience of the values shown in the critique. Be as persuasive as you can. 

Pre task activity

Before watching the episode, think carefully about some tragic footages you may have ever seen on the Internet on-line or a few minutes after they have happened. In other words, short videos shared through Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook, etc. Then write down your comments about it expressing clearly how you felt after watching them. Share your comments with your classmates on a forum.

 2) Now that you have seen the episode, read the following three reviews bearing in mind that there are positive and negative opinions in each one. Distinguish which one bears either positive or negative views:

5)    Write a review of no more than 300 words trying to provide the reasons why Smithereens deserves or not to be seen. You can use some of the phrases listed but not all.

6)    Post your reviews in your blogs to be discussed in class.

Week 1 : ICT and the 21st Century Primary School/ In this week we have received an interesting and useful approach to different kinds of learning, some of them are: Learning through collaboration, through production, through acquisition, through discussion, through practice, and through inquiry./ We have been invited to think on "how ICT could be used as regards this approaches concerning our local classroom`s reality."/ We also have been shown "Unesco" researchs findings about uses of ICT in Primary Education worldwide./ This practical course is mostly about what is going on in some primary classrooms about many different ways in which ICT can be used./ Week 2 : In this week we have seen some schools that have been using ICT and the changes they have reached to. Some teachers have explained this changes, they have talked about children`s motivation and how using ICT in clasrooms have changed the way in which students and teachers get on with each other, also how this mayor changes have reached life beyond school./

WebQuest

A WebQuest is a reflective activitystructured, which poses an attractive task using resources available on the network, selected in advance by the teacher, with the purpose of contributing to the administration of the time students devote to the development of it. Investigating on the web incorporates students to effective tasks, encourages collaboration and discussion, and is easily integrated into the school curriculum. WebQuest is a didactic strategy in which students are the ones who really build knowledge.

"A WebQuest," according to Bernie Dodge, the originator of the WebQuest concept, "is an inquiry-oriented activity in which most or all of the information used by learners is drawn from the Web. WebQuests are designed to use learners' time well, to focus on using information rather than on looking for it, and to support learners' thinking at the levels of analysis, synthesis, and evaluation."
